Filler pipettes are used to move a number of volumes of solution, usually called aliquots. The pipettes used, both measuring pipettes and volumetric pipettes, must be washed first with a few milliliters of solution to be plucked. Do not plump the fluid directly with the mouth, but use the filler pipette to pump the liquid into the pipette. The solution to be plucked is prepared in a clean chemical glass. Do not directly pluck the solution from within the reagent bottle because it contaminates the remaining solution in the reagent bottle.
A filler pipette must be combined with a volumetric pipette or a measuring pipette to be used.
Here are the steps when moving solutions using filler pipettes:
1. Pipettes solution to the scale limit on pipettes
2. Attach the tip of the pipette to the tilted wall of the chemical glass (the pipete 's position must be perpendicular and the scale limit on the pipete parallel to the eye). Get the solution out right on the scale limit.
3. Move the pipette to another container that will be inserted into the solution. Remove the contents of the solution in the pipette
