General introduction:
The MSP-EXP430G2 LaunchPad is an easy-to-use flash programmer and debug tool that provides everything you need to develop on the MSP430 Value Line. It provides a 14/20-pin DIP socket target board with integrated emulation for fast programming and debugging of the system's built-in MSP430 Value Line devices via the Spy Bi-Wire (2-wire JTAG) protocol. Because of the extremely low power consumption of the MSP430 flash, the flash can be erased and programmed in seconds without the need for an external power supply.
LaunchPad connects MSP430 devices with integrated software environments such as Code Composer Studio version 4 or IAR embedded work platforms. These IDEs on the MSP430 Value Line are free and unrestricted software. The LaunchPad supports all MSP430G2xx flash devices in a 14- or 20-pin DIP package (TI package code: N).
