This is a solar charger for maximum power point tracking (MPPT) of a single lithium battery. The MPPT Solar Charger enables you to capture as much power as possible from a solar panel or other photovoltaic device and load it into a rechargeable lithium battery. It's so easy to use, just plug the solar panel into one side of the solar charger, and then plug the battery into the other side, and you're ready to charge!



Solar maximum power point tracking (MPPT) is to ensure that the light intensity changes and the pv cell output maximum power to make full use of the solar energy. In general, a dC-DC converter in switch mode is required to achieve the MPPT function, keeping the output voltage and charging current product maximized (output).



The output of the solar charger is designed to charge a single polymer lithium-ion battery. The load should be in parallel with the battery. Each solar charger comes with a CN3791 power tracking battery charging circuit and four 2-pin JST/PH2.0 connectors preinstalled.



By default, we set the holding voltage for MPPT. Therefore, we have three versions with input voltage of 6V, 9V and 12V respectively (corresponding working voltage of solar panel is 6V / 9V / 12V), which is very suitable for applications with large voltage difference between input voltage and battery voltage.



When the current output capacity of the input power is reduced, the internal circuit of CN3791 can automatically track the maximum power point of the solar panel. The user does not need to consider the worst case, but can make maximum use of the output power of the solar panel, which is very suitable for the application of solar panel power supply.



Note: If the CN3791 MPPT solar charger is version 9V, you must use a solar panel with a working voltage of 9V.
