What's the difference between it and ir modes of lsi hba card firmware
The two types of firmware are the initiator target (it) and the integrated raid (ir).
Ir is a typical hardware raid firm attached to an internal card or board card.
On the other hand, it firmware is the target firmware of the initiator, which aims to connect up to 256 sas hba
Use sas extender. It firmware is usually attached to an external card. It firmware does not have any raid function and basically acts as hba.
