Equipment installation

1. Confirm that the equipment is in the main mode.

2. Connect SATA/IDE connectors to SATA/IDE devices.

3. Connect ac power to SATA/IDE equipment.

4. Connect the cable to the USB interface of the computer.

Driver installation

1. Window 98: insert the CD into the CD drive and run X:\win98\setup.exe before the cable plugs into the computer interface.

2. Windows 2000/me/XP: no need to install any drivers.

3. Mac8,6 or higher system: copy Gene USB SATA/IDE_05E3_0702, put it on the left, double-click it to get the driver file. Then copy the driver file to System Folder [Extensions]

After that, connect the cable and restart the system.

Uninstall

1. Right-click the icon in the taskbar and stop the device.

2. Pull out the cable

3. Unplug the power cord.

Note

This Unit does not require External Power Adapter if you are going to connect 2.5" IDE Hard Disk drive, but for any other devices such as 3.5" IDE, SATA Hard Disk Drive or CD-RW, DVD-RW, CD Rom, DVD Rom it will require external Power Adapter if it is not connected to one already. External power adapter is not included in the package. If you require one, you have to arrange one yourself.

Important Note

1. Please set jumper wire to the MASTER mode of your hard disk.

2. Please note: power adapter (220v Mains) is not included.

3. You are required to connect the external power for 3.5” IDE & SATA HDD. Please pay attention to keep good heat dissipation of your external power adapter. And please always remember to remove the external power adapter and disconnect it from the connection if you do not use the hard disk.
