TMC2209 is an ultra-quiet motor driver IC (imported chip) for two-phase stepper motors. The TMC2209 is pin compatible with many traditional drivers as well as the TMC2208.
TRINAMICs' advanced Stealhop2 chopper ensures noiseless operation of the motor, achieving high efficiency and motor torque. Its combination of fast current regulation and resonance suppression functions enables highly dynamic motion. StallGuard is used for sensorless return to origin to prevent stalling.
The built-in power MOSFET can handle motor currents up to 2A RMS, with protection and diagnostic functions for stable and reliable operation.
A simple-to-use UART interface opens tuning and control options. Store and tune the application to OTP memory.
The individual pulse directions allow the drive to be set for quiet operation and very precise operation, resulting in a cost-effective and highly competitive solution.
