Seiko Dolce – the collection that you have your eyes on looks like a dream come true. Enchanting, bewitching and a definite masterpiece. The company ensures that each part of the various watches that they are indulged in manufacturing are created at home – so everything is SEIKO.
What does Seiko stand for? It is a Japnese word that means “exquisite”. Well, the company lives up to the “exquisite” standards that it has set for itself. Since we are talking about the Seiko Dolce & Exceline’s history – we must go ahead and explore the history of the brand itself. So let’s take a sneak peek into the time when the world was first introduced to the term Seiko.
Back in the year 1881, a young entrepreneur was busy paving a path to bring about a revolution in the watch industry. This young man was Kintaro Hattori – 22 years of age at that time – the man had set one clear vision and that was he had to make his dreams come true and he was willing to put in as much hard work as it would take for him to do so. Who knew that his time in Central Tokyo would turn out to be so fruitful? It was eleven years later that he saw that he was getting closer to his dream and that was when he established the "Seikosha" factory.
Hattori had a clear aim in his mind and that was to startle the world with whatever he brought out. He put in a lot of research to gauge what the market demanded of them; meanwhile, he had to keep Seikosha in business. Thus, he began the production of wall clocks. He had not anticipated that the wall clocks would be appreciated to such an extent that it would lead to an enormous amount of demand. This added fuel to the burning fire of his passion and he knew that he must continue to excel and understand the market better. He spent day and night thinking about the niches that could be filled in by Seiko. While doing so – he did not want to leave any stones unturned; thus, he made sure that the watches he manufactured were not limited to the production of men's watches. Therefore, there was a rapid increase in ladies Seiko.
With creativity at their disposal, the brand ensured that they catered to what the people wanted. Thereafter, they not only manufactured pocket watches but they also came up with the idea of making wristwatches that were specially made in Japan – rather than getting involved in imports. Thus, they were the first ones to bring about a wristwatch in Japan. One step at a time, the brand wanted to become renowned in the entire world.
Despite having been through ups and downs themselves, the brand was winning – to the point that it led to a crisis amongst its contemporaries. Seiko introduced the world’s first quartz watch – Astron - and stunned the swiss-watch indu
